Fees (2009)
Are based on typical private practice fee guidelines. The initial assessment and treatment is $60.00/session. Following sessions are $48.00/session, $14.00/session for Acupuncture service fees. These fees include a physician's initial report and updates.
There may be additional costs for certain reports, off-work or return-to-work forms, or administration fees. These would be discussed individually and in advance with each client.
Will depend on the type of injury, its severity and if the area has been injured previously, and can only be determined by a thorough assessment and ongoing evaluation.
Education in a Self-Management Plan (a.k.a. a Home Program) is started at the first session, and is continuously refined depending on response and progress with treatment.
Other components include mobilization and manipulation (low velocity and low amplitude) of soft tissues and joints, regional massage, acupuncture (western approach for muscle and joint pain), exercise (power, endurance, aerobic, aquacise), fitness programs, education (pain management, proper use of heat & cold, posture, ergonomics, traction (manual and mechanical) and TENS, NMES (muscle and nerve stimulation) to achieve functional goals.

how much time
An initial assessment usually requires an hour of your time.
what to bring
Your physician's name and number, list of current medications, the names and contact numbers of other healthcare professionals you may be consulting, t-shirt and shorts (clinic gowns, shorts and muscle shirts are also available). Running shoes may also be required.
what happens
You will be asked to fill out information regarding your present health status and present complaints. The appointment begins with a thorough interview about the history and nature of your problem. The physical examination analyzes your movement and posture. The involved joints and muscles are measured for strength, range of movement and the source of any pain.
what you leave with
An understanding of your condition, how you can start to manage it, and a guideline as to how many visits your treatment may take.
